Ready for the Summertime

Moved back home Friday and celebrated my 20th with my family, fiance, and his parents. Went to a Mexican restaurant I've been going to since I was really young. One of my favorite places definitely. :) Started off with a strawberry margarita with my mom before dinner too. ;)

Was treated really well this year present-wise! A crockpot and blender from my parents and a 12-piece Paula Dean pot and pan set from my future in-laws! All in red which is exactly what I wanted. So perfect.

I haven't been doing so much since getting home, though that will change once I start working officially Thursday. Which is a good and annoying thing at the same time. Last night I popped open a bottle of Moscato and had my first glass ever - really good! Definitely a sweet, dessert wine. On the back it said it would be good with Asian cuisine and I can't wait to try that out!

This morning I FINALLY started my day off right with an hour long fasted cardio session on the elliptical while watching the latest episode of Game of Thrones.

Followed that by some chicken and bbq sauce and a slice of homemade banana bread:

I cleaned some of my room today; it's so messy from moving back home. I literally have no space for majority of my stuff! It's crazy! I don't know where all of it came from. Haha. Not gonna lie - I spent most of today waiting to roast up these babies

And then made the rest of the dinner too. We had baked tilapia (I topped mine with lemon juice and chopped parsley), the sweet potatoes, and peas. I also made a really quick version of guacamole to have on the side - yeah, I like it plain. :P (It was just 1/2 and avocado mashed with a bit of lime juice and about a tablespoon of salsa).

Ending my night with a mug of donut shop coffee fro the Kuerig (first time having it) and pinterest. I'll probably have something to eat in a little bit to tide me over. I have to go into work tomorrow at 1 for training and I don't have any clue how long that will last but shouldn't be more than an hour or two.

The Road through Finals is a Long One

Finals are this week - my last at WMU. I've got 3 done and have 1 more to go tomorrow! I have had one every day this week. Monday was world history, yesterday was sports history, this morning at 8 was American literature. I feel like I did good on all of them except today's, but I probably did fine.

Yesterday morning I started my day out with a bowl of fruit:

Then I had my sports final which took me half an hour and I was STARVING when I got back. I showered quickly and then devoured tacos with extra guacamole.

So delicious!

And I followed the tacos up with some Insomnia cookie:

Which I had too much of yesterday. :| Ugh. But whatever. I'm still trying to eat what I want and not worry too much if it's healthy or not. Which is hard. Especially because I woke up with a zit at the line of my bottom lip and skin - Hurts so bad. I got one before when I was eating  pretty unhealthy and now it came back. :( I'm just hoping my eating levels out after I get home.

I start working next week Thursday. I'm nervous and excited, but mostly nervous. :/

Today I woke up and had my final and then came back and had two cups of this loveliness:

Brightened me up a bit.

Today I have no plans. I'll eventually get around to studying for my British literature exam which is tomorrow, but for now I'm just going to relax and enjoy it. After the exam tomorrow, I have to majorly pack and Friday morning before my mom comes I have to get everything ready. Then I'll be on my way home to belatedly celebrate my birthday with my parents, fiance, and his parents. :)

Birthday Celebrations... Or Not

To give you a brief peak at how my eating's been for the past days here's a collage:

It's been even more out of place than these pictures show. I've had more bowls of cereal in the past few days than I've had in years! And that Taco bell? Yeah, I had McDonald's earlier in the day. The salmon and green rice was healthy and those Justin's organic dark chocolate peanut butter cups are literally the best! My eating's been out of whack but I'm relaying that to the fact that I stopped working out for a couple of weeks and I have definitely been more lenient in my eating. Which is so much less stressful! I'm going to stick to it and hope that my eating levels out to a nicer balance than it's been. Not giving up yet though!

Today was the 20th birthday!

I think I built today up too much. I don't know what I thought was going to happen, but it was kind of a let down. :| It's just, I always have something to do on my birthday, but it's finals week so there was really nothing to do. I sat around most of the day; watched Pitch Perfect; worked out in the morning (30 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes sprint intervals on the stationary bike) My mom had a cookie bouquet sent over that was perfect... and delicious!

Then my day turned around when my fiance showed up to surprise me:

He brought me a shirt I've been wanting:

LA Angels' Mike Trout's number and name :) Super happy with that! I can see myself wearing that all week... Haha.

He was going to be nice and buy me a pair of running shoes, but currently I can't see myself hopping on a treadmill in the near future, so I didn't want him wasting his money on an expensive pair of  shoes. We walked around the mall for awhile and then headed to a birthday dinner and Buffalo Wild Wings. :)

As you can see, it was VERY healthy. ;) Fried pickles... with ranch. Sweet bbq wings... with ranch. Carrot sticks... with ranch. Can you see the pattern? But it was exactly what I wanted and delicious! Tony even came back because I had texted him after he left saying I wanted cookies. So he came back to get me some :) What would I do without him?

Overall, the day wasn't what I imagined but it ended on a sweet note. Moving back home in 4 days and I can't wait! Hopefully these last few ones don't go too slowly.

Starting A "New Life"

The beginning of this post it going to be pretty much just pictures with captions of what I've eaten in the past couple of days and then I'll talk. :P

Snack: greek yogurt and granola

Snack: cinnamon sugar almonds, apple

Lunch: teriyaki chicken and jasmine rice

Brunch: Peanut butter and banana sandwich on wheat

Breakfast: Oatmeal, coffee, clementine, vitamins

Dinner: BBQ ribs and chicken, potatoes, fruit, corn

Dessert: Chocolate cake (I had 2 slices....)

Dinner; Chicken fajitas on wheat with peppers, onions, and guac

Drink: Lemon water!!!

Alright. So Tuesday night I went home to look at two apartments with my fiance. Safe to say we were both on the same page with which one was the one we loved. :D Currently, we're trying to figure out if we can get this dog we want because that changes when we'd move into it and everything and which apartment we would be in and stuff! We aren't even sure if we'd actually be able to get the dog so that'd be figured out this weekend and then we would have to apply to get the place. But I think we'll get it all figured out.

Today was my last day of real classes at WMU today which actually isn't as sad as I thought it would be; just kind of weird. I don't know if I'm going to miss the school so much. My sorority and all the girls in it I definitely will, but I've been planning to come back numerous times already next year.

In general though, I'm more nervous to start new things than end the old ones. Living in a place other than school or my parents home, starting at Oakland in the fall, and a new job! Scary but I'll make it!

Easy Goin'

I lost track of my time during Greek Week and got way too busy to be thinking of writing blog posts which sucks. I'm back now though and ready to actually get this blog up and running completely and totally.

From where I left off after my oatmeal at my last post I had a turkey panini and vegetable soup. And then later in the day I had pumpkin pie crunch (shown below) and on the day after I had peanut butter banana toast and a salad (also shown below).

Then Greek Week got running and with all the airband practices and stuff, I didn't have time to worry about taking pictures of my food or writing a blog posts.

But as far as my life goes, we didn't place in anything in Greek Week and that's ok. I'm proud of what we did and there's always next year (for the sorority because I won't be there ;( ). Tony, my fiance, came to watch our airband and spend the night with me and Sunday. We got Buffalo Wild Wings and cookies Saturday night and Sunday morning we went to breakfast with my sister and her boyfriend. I got a green pepper, spinach omelet there and banana bread -- which was AMAZING. The fiance took me to see Jurassic Park in 3D because I've been on a Jurassic Park kick for the past couple of weeks - excuse my nerd. :P I also had my last meeting as an active member of my sorority which was bittersweet and definitely didn't hit me until we were wrapping up.

This week is the last week of classes so tomorrow and Thursday are my last days of classes and then next Friday I move back home for the last time.

Today I ate really healthy; I had a turkey sandwich with a side of cucumbers, carrots, and a clementine. Then had the second 1/2 of my banana bread from Sunday, a homemade latte, more carrots and cucumbers, sweet potato chips, and a few almonds.

Dinner was rice, teriyaki chicken, and strawberry shortcake as dessert. I will definitely miss having all this food being made for me, but I'm also going to LOVE making my own food and knowing what's in it and stuff. I had a chocolate mini vitatop after to tide me over. And then I just ate a bowl of cereal with a banana and lactose free milk. Still kind of hungry so I'll probably go make another small bowl and then relax the rest of the night. Maybe watch some Kyle XY which I just started and seems decently interesting. :)

The Exhaustion Keeps Coming

I ended up snacking a decent amount after dinner last night. I ate 1/2 a cinnamon roll QuestBar, a mini  vitatop, a few almonds, and a few sweet potato chips. I got hungry again (as always) a few hours later and had the most delicious slice of wheat toast with Peanut Butter & Co Mighty Maple peanut butter, banana, and honey! Just look at it:

YUM! I also had a La Croix lime and a piece of Ghirardelli raspberry dark chocolate courtesy of my fiance.

We had Greek Week practice again (the main performance is this Saturday) and I snacked on a few small handfuls of Honey Nut Cheerios. Then went to bed.

Got up early this morning and slowly got ready and drank my preworkout before getting in my car. I really didn't want to go. I'm not even kidding; usually I jump right out of bed but today I just couldn't do that. :( But I went and had a great run (5.3 miles) followed by 10 minutes of intervals on the stationary bike. Never could I ever regret a workout. This one was fabulous!

After I got back home, I quickly showered while my stomach yelled for food the whole time. Finally got to make my protein shake and oatmeal!

Simple, healthy, and delicious! But I know I'll be hungry within 2 hours >.<

Getting Rear Ended Messes Up Your Day

Well. No workout happened yesterday afternoon. I ate my lunch which was a banana and Peanut Butter & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter and a bowl of vegetable soup. I also had my snack of unsweetened applesauce and a Kids Clif bar.

I was cleaning up lunch and my sorority sister asked I wanted to run to get a pop with her. We stopped at the bank and then were heading to get drinks when we got rear ended. :| Took the cop almost an hour to get there but we were both alright and so was the guy that hit us. The damage on her car wasn't too awful either.

By the time we got back I was hungry again and it was time for dinner. So I grabbed a plate of chicken, a biscuit with honey, and some sauteed veggies. The biscuits were so good! I literally couldn't stop eating them and ended up eating four in total. >.<

And then from there on out I had about 3 bowls of cereal with lactose free milk because I kept getting hungry. Had practice for Greek Week which was eventful, but a story for another time and then came home and fell asleep around 1 AM. I had been planning on going to the gym this morning but once I realized I wasn't going to be asleep in a good time, getting up at 4 AM didn't seem like a good idea.

This morning I slowly walked to class and ate a whole wheat bagel with Smuckers blackberry simply fruit spread and then was still hungry so I had a slice of leftover pizza and a bread stick  I got a cookie for a group presentation in one of my English classes and then had some greek yogurt with granola before my last class.

When I got home I had made up my mind to go to the gym to do a quick workout.

Ended up doing 25 minutes high intensity interval traiting (HIIT) and then 13 minutes HIIT on the stationary bike with a cooldown. No regrets from going obviously! Came back and showered, ate (Kung Pao chicken and broccoli, jasmine rice, fruit, and beef and snap peas), and then stretched for a couple of minutes and then did this baby:

That's how long my plank was! I'm definitely getting better and better at holding it longer which makes me so happy! I followed it up with another 1:30 of stretching and then a 75 second plank.

And for now I'm just relaxing, hungry again. Have Greek Week practice again tonight and then workout in the morning. A long one this time!
